What actually arrives, and what you should do.

Cabinets come boxed. Flat-packed boxes, stacked and wrapped, off the truck at your driveway or your garage. That is what delivery looks like — not a crew walking finished cabinets into your kitchen.

Have somewhere dry and indoors to put them. A garage is fine. Outdoors under a tarp is not — cabinets are wood and composite, and a tarp traps moisture as much as it keeps rain off. If you do not have a dry indoor spot ready on delivery day, that is the thing to solve before you order, not after the truck arrives.

Here is the part almost nobody tells you: open and check the boxes on delivery day, not the morning your installer arrives. If a box is damaged in transit or a part is missing, you want to know the day you receive it, while the delivery is still a fresh event and anything wrong can be sorted out quickly. Finding it the morning the installer is standing in your kitchen costs you that day's labor and pushes the whole job back. Ten minutes with a box cutter on delivery day saves that.
