Pawling is a village and a town in southern Dutchess County, on the Route 22 corridor and the Metro-North Harlem Line. Our showroom is about six road miles south — one of the closest towns we serve, and the nearest cabinet showroom to the village.
A village and a town. Two different kitchens.
Pawling has a compact, walkable village core of older houses, surrounded by a town that is rural and far more spread out. The two housing stocks want different cabinetry, and a page that pretends Pawling is one thing is wrong.
The village houses are older construction with smaller footprints. The kitchens sit at the back, the ceilings and walls have moved over the years, and the rooms are tight. At the cabinet level that means careful measuring, filler where a wall leans, and a layout worked around doorways and windows that cannot move. It is a job where every inch is doing work.
Outside the village it is a different job. The town is more rural and more spread out, with more room, newer builds in places, and farmhouse-era houses with kitchens that were extended rather than designed.
