Kitchen Cabinets in Putnam Lake, New York

A lake community inside the Town of Patterson, close to the Connecticut line — and about three road miles from a showroom full of real cabinet doors.

Putnam Lake, and where we are.

Putnam Lake is a lake community within the Town of Patterson, in Putnam County, close to the Connecticut line. Our showroom is on Route 22 in Patterson at 3227 NY-22 — about three road miles away. If you live at the lake, you have driven past us.

Kitchens at the lake are their own problem.

Putnam Lake began as a seasonal bungalow community. Houses went up small and built for summer — one storey, thin walls, kitchens sized for a few weeks of cooking a year. Over the decades that followed, those houses were converted to year-round housing, extended and winterised piecemeal: a room added here, insulation there, a wall moved or not moved depending on the decade and the budget.

The kitchen consequence is specific. The rooms are tight. They are oddly shaped — a jog where an addition meets the original house, a doorway in the wrong place, a ceiling that slopes or drops. And they are very often not square, because the original frame was never built to be permanent and every later alteration followed the walls as they stood rather than as they were drawn.

That is a genuinely different problem from a kitchen in a newer subdivision, where the walls are straight and the only question is which finish you like. At the lake, the walls themselves are part of the job. It is exactly why a measurement taken in the room beats an order placed off a screen: a cabinet order is a fixed size, and a converted lake house does not care what the website said.

What that means for cabinets.

Every inch counts

Smaller runs mean there is no filler space to waste. A few inches gained or lost on a run is the difference between a drawer bank and a door with a shelf behind it. The layout has to be worked, not picked.

Walls that lean

Where a wall leans or bows, the order uses filler strips and scribe — the cabinet is cut to follow the wall rather than fight it. That is normal, planned work, not a surprise. It is decided at the measurement, not on delivery day.

Storage has to work harder

Less cabinet means each box has to do more. Pull-outs, deep drawers, corner solutions and pantry units earn their keep in a small lake kitchen far faster than in a large one. See what can go in →

How far we are.

About three road miles, on Route 22 in Patterson. Miles, not minutes — the road is the road. The honest point worth making is this: we are the closest cabinet showroom to the lake that we know of, and you can walk in without an appointment. Monday to Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Saturday 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, closed Sunday.

What we do.

We sell and deliver custom kitchen cabinets and quartz countertops. Putnam Lake is well inside our 25-mile delivery radius — among the closest deliveries we make.

We do not install.

We sell cabinets, we measure, and we deliver them. We do not install them, and we do not arrange anyone who does. You hire your own installer, and your contract is with them. This is deliberate: we have no installer on payroll to keep busy, so we have no reason to steer you toward anyone or to bundle a labor number into your cabinet price. You see what the cabinets cost, you see what the labor costs, and neither number hides inside the other. Read how to check an installer before you pay a deposit →
