Kitchen Design and Measurement
Two things, and they happen in two places. The design part happens at the showroom — walk in any time. The measurement happens at your house, and that one needs an appointment.
Two things, and they are different.
We help with two things, and it helps to keep them straight. The first is design — choosing a door style, a finish, and a layout that works for the room. That part happens at the showroom on Route 22 in Patterson, and you can walk in any time during business hours. No appointment, no notice.
The second is the measurement. That happens at your house, not ours, and it needs an appointment so someone is free to come out. It is the step that turns a style choice into an actual order — without it, you are guessing at sizes, and cabinets are not the thing to guess at.

Measurement

What happens at the showroom.
You look at real doors and real finishes under real light — not pictures of them on a screen. There are three to four full displays on the floor, and you can open every door and drawer in them. A finish that looks right online often reads differently in your hand, and differently again next to a countertop. Holding the actual sample settles it.
Bring photos of your kitchen and a rough sketch with rough measurements if you have them. They help, and they are not required. If you have them, we can talk numbers the same day. If you do not, we set up the free measurement visit and get the measurements ourselves. Either way, you leave knowing more than you walked in with.
What happens at the measurement visit.
Someone comes out and measures the room properly. Walls, windows, doors, soffits, and where the plumbing and the range sit. We note the things that affect the cabinet layout — a window that is not centered, a soffit that drops lower on one end, a corner that is not square. It usually takes about an hour for a typical kitchen.
This is a measurement. It is not an installation, and it is not a construction service. We do not move a pipe, take down a wall, or pull out an old cabinet. We measure the room as it is, so the cabinets we order fit the room as it is. It is free, and it is by appointment.
Why the measurement matters more than people think.
Cabinets are ordered to a fixed size. They come in three-inch increments, and they do not stretch. Old houses, on the other hand, are rarely square. A wall that runs out three quarters of an inch over twelve feet is normal for a house of a certain age — and it is enough to change the layout. The cabinet that was meant to run to the corner no longer fits, or the filler that looked fine on paper is too wide, or the range opening lands a half-inch off.
This is the single best argument for measuring in person rather than ordering online. A website takes the numbers you type in and trusts them. A tape measure does not. The difference shows up the day the cabinets arrive — the ones ordered from a real measurement fit, and the ones ordered from a guess do not.
What you get at the end.
A layout and a price. The layout shows where each cabinet goes, how the run works against the walls, and where the drawers and the storage land. The price is the cabinet price — the cabinets, delivered, nothing bundled in.
Then it is your decision. There is no obligation and no pressure to order on the spot. You can take the layout home, think it over, and come back. When you do order, delivery takes about two weeks, anywhere within 25 miles. We sell and deliver the cabinets — you hire your own installer, so the cabinet price and the labor price stay separate.
